Why Hillsborough?

When we were deciding where we wanted to locate our law firm, Hillsborough seemed like a great choice. It is centrally located close to our clients in Chapel Hill, Durham, and Mebane, as well as the surrounding areas. But in addition to convenience, we enjoy having our office located in Hillsborough’s mixture of history and charm.

Hillsborough was founded in 1754, in an area populated by the Eno and Occaneechi tribes. In the time leading up the Revolutionary War, Hillsborough was the epicenter of the Regulator Movement, where the citizens of North Carolina took up arms against the British colonial officials, in outrage against economic depression and local corruption.

Today, Hillsborough has a historic downtown, dominated by the beautiful Old Court House. The Eno River winds through town, with a gorgeous Riverwalk that stretches almost two miles through the woods and parks. Just outside of town in the Occoneechee Historic Speedway, which was one of the first ever NASCAR tracks from 1949. South of town is the Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area, with beautiful views and hiking trails.

Most importantly, however, is how helpful the people of Hillsborough have been to our firm. We are grateful of the warm welcome they have given us, and look forward to many years of being a supportive part of the community.
